Men are attracted to happy women. if you’re the type of woman who likes to find fault in little things, you’ll struggle more when it comes to being adored by a man. Smiling, laughing and just genuinely having fun will draw him closer to you.

Being physically attractive is obviously important but not everything when it comes to getting the attention of a special man. Men enjoy women who make an effort to look good. this doesn’t mean you have to be skinny with perfect hair. you do need to take some time to choose clothes that flatter your body and put on a little make up. Men love the natural look on the women in their lives so don’t go overboard by wearing too much or things that are too tight or revealing.

When I was thinking about how to make a man fall in love with me I knew that confidence was crucial. Men love confident women. they like a woman who doesn’t make excuses for the things she believes in or does. I didn’t have the best job when I was trying to get my boyfriend to fall in love with me, but I loved my job. I was confident in what I did and it showed.

Being independent is great in some ways but in others it’s less desirable. A great example is if you always feel the need to take care of yourself. It’s wonderful to make your own money and pay your own way, but men love a woman who is gracious and grateful when it comes to receiving gifts. Men love doing things for the women they love and if he offers to pay for dinner or wants to take you away on a mini-vacation, let him. Men love pleasing the woman they care about.

Never put on a false front when you want a man to fall in love with you. if you are trying to impress him and you act in a way that is other than genuine, he’s going to see through it. if you disagree on something with him, tell him. if you aren’t comfortable being intimate too soon, make that clear to him. Stay true to the woman you are if you want to capture his heart.

First let me say that I love Rondo, the heart, passion and desire he has shown over the years sacrificing his body and in the Miami Heat series playing with a dislocated elbow was remarkable.

He is a true warrior and I personally would not trade him for any other point guard in the world after the heart and desire he showed last year.with all that said there are some things he does very well and others that he needs to address.

1) Shooting – he does not have to turn into Ray Allen, but he has to develop the ability to knock down a 18 foot shot consistently way to many teams are starting to clog the lane and play way off of Rondo daring him to shoot. Shooting is all about repetition and confidence. if he could shoot the ball consistently the spacing would be much better and it would give Ray Allen and Paul Pierce the room they need to work.

2) Free throws – a guy who handles the ball as much as Rondo has to be about to knock down 75% of his free throws. In my opinion sometimes he appears passive and doesn’t go to the basket as much as he could simply to avoid shooting free throws. he needs to attack the basket, get the Celtics in the penalty early because as a team we settle way to much for jumpers and do not shoot enough free throws.

3) Turn overs – a guy who handles the ball as much as Rajon Rondo is going to have some turn overs and I understand that. the thing that drives me crazy are the turn overs that are not forced. Rondo has to stop driving to the basket with the sole intention of passing. when he does this he leaves his feet and when the passing lane is taken away it usually turns into a turn over. this type of play happens at the very least once a game. he needs to drive to the basket with the intention of scoring and if that is taken away pass it. Rondo needs to play smart, fast, but under control.

All of these things can be corrected and I truly believe Rajon Rondo has the heart, desire and ability to get better and take the Boston Celtics to the next level. it all starts with confidence. I notice that Rondo confidence and play was down when his best friend Kendrick Perkins was traded. the trade really hurt the team chemistry and with Rondo play dropping off a little it really showed. Losing has a way of refocusing a team and I truly believe 2012 will be the last stand for the Celtics and the big 3. the reason I call it the last stand is simply because of age and contracts and even though I would love Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to play forever I know they are not. Rondo is a key component in 2012 of getting the Celtics back to the promise land.

Striker Dylan Macallister, who spent a season at the Phoenix last year, returns from injury to boost Gold Coast up front and provide a challenge in the air for Wellington's solid back four.

Sixteen years ago, Beausejour teacher Sharon Dugard visited Haiti and held an orphaned baby, Andre. he broke her heart.

The only way she could fix it was to make a loving home in Haiti for kids without one.

“Someone said ‘Why don’t you go to Haiti and work in an orphanage a couple of weeks a year?’ ” Dugard recalled. “That’s fulfilling part of it but I wanted to know we built a home for them.”

Now, after years of planning, fund-raising and setbacks, mission accomplished.

The butter-coloured Open Doorways Orphanage north of Port-au-Prince welcomed its first three residents, Frazimene, Nagella and Christlene, last week.

“In my heart, I knew it was going to happen no matter what,” said Dugard, who’s planning to visit the orphanage in Deschapelles for the first time in the new year.

The girls are five and six years old and will attend school nearby, Dugard said. A few more orphaned kids will join them next month but it will be awhile before they’re ready to fill the 30 beds they’ve bought.

Their project manager is a church pastor in Haiti who has overseen the whole project, from finding the land to getting the materials to hiring local people to build it and staff it. they have two nannies and a cook and are planning to hire a maintenance worker who can double as a security presence, a big concern in a country with desperate poverty. Before they could start building the orphanage, they had to construct a security wall around the property, she said.

“The majority of Haitians welcome you, respect you, will do anything for you and give you their last cup of rice,” said Dugard. “I’ve seen that over and over again.” but there a few people so desperate they’d take advantage of anyone and anything they can get their hands on.

“You have to be on your toes.”

And you have to keep going. Dedicated volunteers formed a board and Open Doorways became a registered charity in Canada. Contacts with a church group in the United States and the Haitian community in Winnipeg got things going on the ground in Haiti. A church in Deschapelles obtained the land and leased it to the orphanage in 2009, the same year Dugard lost her husband to cancer. In 2010, the devastating earthquake hit but didn’t stop the orphanage from being built.

“Luckily the project manager in Haiti had all the supplies on hand,” said Dugard. “After the earthquake, everything was topsy-turvy but he was able to start the construction. he had all the supplies.” Extra rebar was used to help make the building more quake-resistant. Its construction created 40 local jobs for men and women who built the place by hand, hauling water to mix the cement.

Last month, the orphanage was completed. Solar panels were installed to give them light at night but a generator will be needed once more kids arrive and power needs grow.

Dugard said it takes 40 people donating $50 a month to cover the operating costs of the orphanage. after nearly a decade of fundraising events, she’s hoping to attract sponsors who will support the charity on an ongoing basis.

“These children are our children,” she said of donors giving them a home. “It’s a way of showing a few children someone cares for them.”

And not just for a couple of weeks while volunteering on vacation.

“We’re hoping to keep the children we take in until they’re at least finished high school,” she said. “We’re not going to be adopting them out.”

A trade school is being built in the neighbourhood where the orphans will have a chance to learn job skills.

“We’re hoping they will have something to fall back on, and to provide a good living for themselves and to help their country in some way.”

Father Radiostar hears this and goes into a rage, having been the one to write the letters in the first place, and takes off to find the dating couple.following Nagi’s script, Maria takes great delight in the part where Hayate has to try on girl’s clothing in a clothing store. Ayumu happens to be in the same store and seeing Hayate in this condition, decides she needs to get out of town for Golden Week.  Maria’s delight changes when the next part of the script has Hayate watching her try on swimsuits.  it is during this that Hina comes upon them and decides that going overseas might not be such a bad idea.Hina and Ayumu run into each other and start to follow Maria and Hayate while those two go to an aquarium.  Hina starts getting into the aquarium while Maria finds herself “losing” to Hayate even though the date is supposed to be fake.  Thus, Maria starts looking for an opportunity to gain the advantage of Hayate while Father Radiostar possesses a penguin, hoping for an opportunity to get into Maria’s arms.  instead, he ends up in Hayate’s arms, but when Maria sees them, she is cold about the situation instead of finding it cute.  Father Radiostar is stunned by this and Maria is happy at “winning” in this date.  Ayumu and Hina ask Maria and Hayate if they are dating, which the two deny.  Ayumu is relieved, but Hina says they could have been lying.At school, Aika catches Chiharu in an embarrassing moment, leaving Chiharu frustrated about being accused of open and unguarded, especially since Chiharu finds Hina to match that description. Chiharu leaves and finds Nagi playing a game with her panties exposed.  Nagi gets angry about being accused of being open and unguarded since she too finds Hina the open and unguarded one. however, the manga Chiharu has causes the two to click briefly before getting irritated over different reasons for liking the manga.  Chiharu witnesses Izumi in an unguarded, panty-flashing moment before seeing Hina apparently not paying attention and catching a baseball hit to her without even looking. At that, Chiharu realizes that Hina really has it together.Yukiji continues her quest to find money to get her overseas trip while Nagi gets her first pay packet. While she wants to save the money for Hayate’s present, she decides to spend a little on herself after talking with Hayate and buys an old camera that Hayate says can easily be repaired. Meanwhile, Yukiji goes to see Kaoru and destroys one of his Gundam models in frustration. Hearing about her strong desires to go overseas, Kaoru decides to take a chance and invites her to go to Italy for clothing, though she doesn’t think the brand he chose would look good on him.Finally, Ayumu decides to try for the Agean Sea trip in the shopping district since Hayate is going to Greece but fails. however, Risa gets Ayumu into a quiz contest where the grand prize is that same trip. Ayumi is up against Fumi-chan, who’s stupidly smart.  Meanwhile, Hina gets talked into being Red Ranger again as part of the quiz. as such, when Ayumu states that Red would climb to a high place, Hina does it for her so that Ayumu wins the game and the trip.  At some point, Ayumu realizes that it must have been Hina in the suit and so decides that she will invite Hina to go with her, assuming she can get Hina on the plane.Thoughts/Review:And so, Hata-sensei sets up things so that Hina, Ayumu, Risa, Izumi, Miki, Nagi, Hayate, and Maria to Greece, after having two omake stories ages ago showing that it would happen.  as such, I’m rather excited to see the trip finally take place.on a more serious note, the ending of the flashback story about Athena was rather heartbreaking. Hayate’s parents had always been rather loathsome, but it was in a more comedic vein and so one just wrote it off as Hata-sensei being over the top in the name of comedy.  however, in a serious story, their actions are seen for what they are and man, it is not a pretty thing.  I really found myself getting angrier at the mere thought that such people live and breathe even now.still, with Hayate going to Greece, I’ve no doubt that we’ll see Hayate and Athena reunited. that should be interesting to see how this affects Nagi or if Athena gets upset at Hayate being Nagi’s butler.so, Hata-sensei doesn’t explain what the spectral skeleton was in the story but does so as an extra. “King Midas?”  Hmmmm…not really sure about this mythical person looking like a demon skeleton, but his Greek connection is another reason for having Hayate go to Greece, eh?  ^_~ the date with Hayate and Maria was humorous and cute, allowing Hato-sensei to reinforce the notion of an attraction between the two characters and thus Hayate’s harem. I did laugh that Father Radiostar was the one behind the love letter Hayate received.Speaking of humor, Fumi-chan rocks. her appearance in the quiz competition was so awesome, especially when she was asked to draw the symbol for a fire station, and she makes an elaborate drawing of a murder scene with the victim drawing the symbol in his own blood.  *lol*  Man, I just love Fumi-chan.  ^_^As an aside, since Hato-sensei name-dropped Fujiko from Lupin III earlier in the volume, I’m 99% sure that he drew a cameo of Goemon during the quiz contest. on the viz side, no translator notes (still) but the established honorifics remain. I was disappointed that Hayate’s older brother didn’t have the brother title/honorific used but the English translation.  While I’ve loved the English adaptation for using “ojousama” and “waka” as well as other terms, the wishy-washy nature of handling brother/sister honorifics has been disappointing. I wish they’d just uses them and be done with it, even if the term “aniki” is used.I’m glad to have another volume of Hayate the Combat Butler from viz, but I wish they weren’t being released so slowly. well, at least the wait for the next volume won’t be as long, providing viz doesn’t delay volume 19′s release.

After the earthquake hit Japan, many Japanese people took to Twitter to express their hopes and experiences in the tragedy. Professional translator Shortly after, professional translator Aya Watanabe began working with a Tokyo-based blogger to compile some of the most poignant updates.

Here two updates that inspired Aya Watanabe to start translating them into English:

At a jammed crossing I was driving home after the quakes. Streets were extremely jammed and at many crossings only one car could cross the street per green light. At a spaghetti crossing, all traffic was paralyzed for more than 5 min. All drivers, I encountered, waiting to cross streets were calm, giving way to others. All thru my 10 hr driving, I didn’t hear any honking except those showing gratitude to others. of course this travel was scary but also heart warming. This experience made me like Japan all the more.

At Tokyo Disneyland they distributed sweets that are part of their merchandise. High school girls with heavy makeup took away more candies than they would possibly eat and that raised my eyebrows. Later, I saw those girls giving the candies to kids at evacuation areas. Families with kids had limited mobility and couldn’t get to where the candies were distributed. Go girls!

A little knight I was walking behind a mother with a little boy and a baby in a carriage. the mother said to her young boy, “What if another earthquake hits? Scary, isn’t it?” the kindergarten boy said, “No worries, Mom. I will do THIS!” then the boy bent over the baby in the carriage to protect his young sibling. What a little knight in a shiny armor. my heart felt warm.

Disgraceful A teenage boy walked into a drugstore, a package of toilet paper in hand. He said, “My parent hoarded and bought two packages yesterday. how disgraceful. I would like to return one.” — my friend who works for the drugstore was impressed to hear a word “disgraceful” from a high school boy. We have bright future ahead in this country.

Packing for a move When I was packing for my move, my mother handed me a flashlight and survival food she had kept for the family, saying “Take these and don’t buy new ones. there are people who really need them now. Us? We are fine. We have family and neighbors. We can help each other if a disaster strikes our area. You will be living by yourself, a stranger in a strange land. You have all the reasons to be anxious about your new life. No need to be anxious about us, your family.” I felt so proud to be my mother’s daughter, to be part of this family.

Mom’s Pep Talk Called my Mom to let her know I survived the quakes. She lives in Kagoshima, on Kyushu Island, a thousand miles south of Tohoku. Thought she was worried about me and wanted to calm her down. Instead of tears, what I got from her was a pep talk. “Know, with all your heart, the meaning of your being where you are, at this timing and age in your life. do the best you can to serve others.” Mother, I am proud to be your son. I will live through all this.
