Hey guys, can you tell me of any strong female characters in children books? I need examples for an essay I am writing and I am running out of ideas, Thanks
Depends on what you mean by "children." Off of the top of my head, Hermione from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling comes to mind. Violet from "a Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket is also a fairly competent heroine. I would also include Holly Short from the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. Lastly, the Indian girl Karana from Scott O'Dell's "Island of the Blue Dolphins" is quite the strong female character.
